Supplies will be provided, but you are invited to bring your own favorite brushes and paints, etc., if you like.

Workshop materials list: These items are what I use, but not required. Please bring what you already have. Consider this list as suggestions only. Check Amazon and Dick Blick, or your favorite online suppliers.

• Jack Richeson Italian Field Easel (any outdoor easel will be fine)

• A palette to hold and mix paint (mine is handmade 12”x24”)

• Folding stool or lawn chair; artist’s sunshade umbrella, Backpack or rolling cart

• Paint, either acrylic or oil (I typically only use three colors and white: cadmium yellow light, scarlet lake, ultramarine blue and titanium white)

• Brushes: I use hog bristle flats with oil and synthetic flats with acrylic, sizes #4-#12

• Canvas or gesso panels: 2 or 3- 8x10 or 9x12, but not too large; (I make my own with 1/8” or 1/4” Baltic birch plywood)

“I’ll start with a one-hour demonstration painting while I discuss materials and techniques. We’ll all paint until noon while I offer advice and corrections individually. During the lunch break, I can give helpful critiques to previous works you may bring.

The final three hours are to either continue your morning painting, or better still, a new one with a different view or subject.”
